| HIGH SCHOOL PRESENTATION
HOJA has performed hundreds of high school presentations over the last ten years, and we have specifically tailored our show to relate and appeal to teenagers. Often, presenters such as yourself aren’t sure whether to believe that, as there aren’t many presentations out there that go over really well with a high school audience, let alone an acappella singing group. Please be assured that we are not a traditional acappella group — we beatbox and imitate instruments so that the show sounds more like a band than like three guys singing. We also relate to them well and don’t take ourselves too seriously onstage, which allows your students to let their guard down and see us as doing something pretty cool and unique. Our involvement of staff and student volunteers helps to break the ice so that even the most skeptical students feel comfortable to just settle in and have good time with us.
We will leave your students not only energized, laughing, and smiling, but also inspired and motivated. HOJA will be the highlight of your students’ year!
“The staff was enthralled with your talent to perform, to communicate and inspire even the most doubtful and bitter students. Every single student left the Performing Arts Centre that day smiling and humming: an outstanding accomplishment at the Senior High Level. In my time as high school administrator, I have never experienced a group of young people like yourselves who were able to captivate, interact, encourage, motivate, entertain and talk candidly with students like you did so eloquently. You captured my school by storm.”
- Mark Traber, Vice Principal, Crescent Heights High School, Medicine Hat, AB

junior high schools who were skeptical at first!*
What Does HOJA Do?
- High energy ‘modern’ acappella: using only live human voices to sound like a full band. Students often cannot believe the full-band sound the group generates using only three voices.
- We not only sing and harmonize, we also beatbox and mimic percussion and a variety of instruments.
- We deliver an outstanding performance filled with great harmonies, lots of energy, fun choreography, laughs, surprises, and audience participation that definitely gets their blood pumping.
- We perform fun, popular, and memorable music that crosses all genres and styles: I’m a Believer, YMCA, 500 Miles, Lean on Me, Last Saskatchewan Pirate, plus an assortment of modern songs currently on the radio.
- We are positive role models for your students.
- We present an inspiring and motivating message to your students and encourage them to shoot for their dreams regardless of obstacles and peer pressure.
- We encourage and inspire your students to become involved in music and a variety of other positive activities.
HOJA also offers these unique benefits to you as a presenter:
- 55 minute presentation (including the message and Q&A) to take up as little class time as possible.
- Affordable, bottom-line fee including travel and sound system so there are no hidden costs to you.
- The show and message are tailored to your entire student body, and we ensure that the older students feel that the show is geared specifically for them as much as the younger students.
- Risk free: we will return your performance fee if you are not satisfied. Guaranteed.
We will impact your students in these three important ways:
- Our show is engaging and entertaining with a lot of student interaction and involvement.

We are very proud of the fact that many schools regard us as the best presentation
they have ever brought in, and have brought us in again and again, to the delight of
their students.
“Some of our students and staff had expressed concern about how this group would be accepted by a high school age group. HOJA proved that they are more than capable of entertaining this age group, and that the less acceptable tactics used by some performers to gain acceptance are not necessary I made a point of looking into the crowd several times during the show to gauge their interest, and I found that the crowd responded very well to the music and stories that were presented.”
- Rob Fenske, SRC Advisor, Walter Murray Collegiate, Saskatoon, SK
“I think that high school audiences can sometimes be quite skeptical about new experiences, and ‘Mac’ students are no different. I watched their faces at the beginning of the show and I could see the reserved looks. However, by your second selection the students were totally hooked. The laughter and applause was a genuine response to your delightfully diverse choreography, fabulous music and your show-stopping wit. Many students approached me afterwards to ask if it was possible to have you return sometime in the future.”
- Dawn Keer, Archbishop MacDonald High School, Edmonton, AB
“The talent and the enthusiasm that HOJA so obviously displayed had the whole student body ‘up’ with the very first song and kept them there throughout. It really was the best assembly we ever had!”
- Jan Layh, SRC Advisor, Churchbridge High School, Churchbridge, SK
We also pride ourselves on the fact that presenters regard us as among the most professional, respectful, and easy to work with performers they have ever brought in.
“Our students grade 7-12 enjoyed the show thoroughly and the staff was very impressed with the professionalism of the performers. Things went smoothly, perfectly timed, and well staged.”
- Lori Prentice, Crowsnest Consolidated High School, Coleman, AB
“HOJA arrived early enough to set up properly and be ready for the time that was scheduled. As a Catholic School, we must always watch that performances for our students are appropriate and this was. The content was great and showed respect for all in attendance.”
- Cheryl Thompson, SRC Advisor, John Paul II Collegiate, North Battleford, SK
“Another plus was their relatively low fee, compared to many other touring groups. They more than earned their booking fee and volunteered to stay longer to talk with members of the audience. They were extremely well received by students and staff and we plan to book them again next year.”
- Tammy Bailey-Frecon, Vice Principal, Carrot River High School, Carrot River, SK
